The fuel Assistance Program is designed to assist low-income households, landlords, owners, and renters alike, in meeting the high cost of home heating. Eligibility and benefits are determined by gross annual household income, citizenship, number of household members and vulnerability to heating costs. Prior year recipients receive applications in the mail before the start of the program, and can provide income documentation as part of the mail response. The Program runs through 11/1-4/30 and provides assistance wtih oil, gas, propane, electric, kerosene and wood stoves. The Program is not intended to cover the entire cost of home heating.
The Program also provides conservation services to help eligible homeowners and renters with heating systems and weatherization work to help increase energy efficiency and comfort while reducing heating bills at little or no cost to the household.
Heating Repair & Replacement Program (HEARTWAP): This Program provides heating system repair and replacement services to low income households.
