Needham Traveling Meals Program was designed to deliver meals to individuals who are homebound and unable to prepare their own meals. Two nutritionally balanced meals in packaged form are delivered to Needham residents who meet the following: 1) Unable to drive 2) Do not have support, such as family or homemaker service, to provide daily meals 3) Have physical or cognitive limitations that restrict the ability to shop and prepare their own meals.4) Must be home to accept meal. One meal is a hot meal and the second is a cold meal containing a sandwich, milk, fruit, juice, bread and butter and dessert. There is a two-week minimum enrollment. Meals are prepared and assembled at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. Brochure available on the website.
Cost: $5.50 for each two meal package.
Special Meals: diabetic, low-fat, low cholesterol, cardiac & low sodium also available.
Note: Clients who receive home care from Springwell, Inc., may be eligible to have their meals paid for by a grant from Springwell, Inc.
