Interfaith Social Services is pleased to accept applications for a Boston trust fund which provides financial assistance to individuals residing on the South Shore with their medical and dental bills, and/or other health related expenses. Eligibility: Applicants must live on the South Shore. Applicant's expenses must be medically necessary and based on financial need. ISS is the payor of last resort. Application Process: Qualified applicants must submit all revelant documentation to support their case. For example: letters from physicians, actual bills or estimates of medical expenses. Ask to speak with Jan Stewart at 617-773-6203 ext. 16 on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 1:00pm and 5:00pm.
Faith in action - A friendship program extended to individuals who have suffered from symptoms of loneliness with emotional or psychological difficulties. Volunteers who are trained and supervised will visit individuals. These visits can consist of talking, shopping, or keeping a doctor's appointment. These companions are matched according to gender and expectations to provide compassion, consistency, and acceptance with the goal of establishing a positive relationship.
