Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Food stamp benefits are provided through a 'EBT' card to low income families and individuals to supplement food purchases. EBT 'electronic benefit transfer' is used to pay for groceries and to get cash at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and Point of Sale (POS) machines located at the cash register in some stores. With every purchase or cash withdrawal a receipt is given to keep track of the available food stamp balance and/or available cash balance. DTA will continue to send checks only for SSI payments, to recipients of other cash benefits (TAFDC and EAEDC) who reside in rest homes, institutions or drug/alcohol treatment centers.
The Brockton Food Stamp Call Center will respond to inquiries and conduct the initial processing of food stamp applications. They will provide phone access to general and specific food stamp information such as status of an application and benefit amount or understanding correspondence. The Call Center phone number is 1-866-813-1444.
