Living Independently for Equality is a non-profit social organization for physically disabled adults 18 years and older. The LIFE Center is located in the Hamilton Wade Community room 54 Haverhill Street, Suite 100, Brockton, MA. In 1983 Rae Zuckerman founder and Executive Director reached out to help the physically disabled. The LIFE Center, the only one of its kind in Massachusetts, has since been a haven for the physically disabled, who were former shut-ins, where friendships are kindled and lives take on a new meaning. Membership dues are $100.00 per year for all members. This includes a wide variety of free programs: For Your Health: blood pressure screening, education programs, exercise, health screenings, medical equipment exchange, snack and hot lunch programs. For Your Pleasure: arts and crafts, bingo, card and board games, cribbage, scrabble, crocheting, and wheelchair bowling. We provide information about referral and advocacy assistance, social, legal, and housing benefits.
Donations to continue ongoing services at the Center are greatly appreciated.
