The South Hadley Police Department offers an automated computerized emergency response system for town elderly residents. The system automatically calls subscribers at a designated time each morning and a computerized voice asks: 'Are you O.K.?'. If the subscriber does not answer the phone, three more calls are automatically made at a short intervals. If there still is no answer, designated family members and local emergency services will be contacted. If the elder's well being is still unkown, a police officer will visit the home to check on the elder.
