Intake Procedure: Call or stop by the office;Eligibility: Anyone facing discrimination in housing. Hours of Operation: Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm; Friday 9:00 am- 1:00 pm; Intake hours M - Th 9:30 am - 3:00pm. The MFHC investigates cases concerning discrimination in denying housing to people because of: race, color, national origin, religion, gender, familial status, age, receipt of housing subsidy, eceipt of public benefits, marital status, veteran's status, handicap or sexual orientation. Attorneys in both Hampshire and Hampden counties are available to take on fair housing cases. The Housing Discrimination Project also provides the following services: education and outreach regarding fair housing issues, investigation of complaints, free legal advice and representation for the victims of housing discrimination. Towns served are any within Hampsden, Hampshire, Franklin, Worcester and Berkshire Counties.
