The Lathrop Communities (both Northampton and Easthampton) are residential communities for people over age 55. Each community offers single-story, two bedroom homes with attached garage. These communities are designed for independent living, although residents may access any outside services necessary to maintain their independence. Studio, one or two bedroom apartments are available at the Inn at Easthampton with some garages available. A daily meal is available in Easthampton at the Inn. Meals are offered occasionally in Northampton. Lathrop Community is a private not-for-profit organization led by an all volunteer board of directors. Lathrop operates 140 (19 with full walk-out basements) homes and 59 apartments, serving nearly 240 people.
Fees: Town homes require a 90% refundable initial entry fee ranging from $215-$315,000 depending on size and whether or not the townhome has a walk-out basement. Monthly fees ranging from $1,120 to $1,350 and $100 for a second person. Apartments at the Inn will have a higher monthly maintenance fee because all services, including one daily meal, are included.
