Florence House is cooperative housing for older adults who no longer
want the worries and costs of maintaining a home, but who are not
eligible for federally subsidized housing. The building contains
seventeen one-bedroom apartments to meet the needs of older adults.
Residents pay a monthly maintenance fee which covers all costs of
administration, operation, maintenance, common utilities, real estate
taxes, security, insurance and social services coordination. An
important element of these apartments is that they are a part of
Roslindale House, a larger community facility for elders providing access
to health care, recreation, nutrition and social services. Purchase price
of the share is fully refundable within 120 days notice.
