The YWCA of Central Massachusetts provides various recreational and social programs for all ages. Some of their programs include:
- ENCOREplus® Program, a combined peer support group and exercise program, for women under treatment and recovering from breast or other reproductive cancers. ENCOREPlus meets on first and third Tuesdays 11:15-11:45 am for water exercise, and 12:00-1:00 pm for an emotional support group lunchy. A facilitated discussion is led by YWCA women's health specialist, every third Tuesday.
- Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group, which is open to other kin, is offered on the second Monday of every month from 6:00-8:00 pm at the YWCA Members Lounge, 1 Salem Square, Worcester, MA. Call Elder Services of Worcester Area at 508-756-1545 for more information.
- Domestic Violence Services Program for survivorsof Intimate Partner Violence - 24/7 helpline: 508-755-9030 and chat line www.ywcahelp.com Services include: community outreach, prevention education and training,domestic violence class, confidential emergency shelter, SAFEPLAN/Court advocacy, sshort-erm counseling and advocacy, support groups, ICAPP*, Service Provider Consultations, and family and friends bystander support.
*ICAPP is an intensive short term planning process for survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence who are without homes or experiencing housing instability. Survivors can work with an ICAPP facilitator to increase wellbeing and plan next steps.
